1. This privacy policy applies to CCD Styling Pty Ltd ACN 613 338 337 and its related companies (CCD, we, us, our). CCD is a professional property stylist and is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act). 

In collecting, holding, using, disclosing and otherwise managing your personal information, we will comply with the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles.

This Privacy Policy explains how we may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, including our obligations and your rights in respect of our dealings with your personal information.  Please take a moment to read our Privacy Policy as it describes what happens to your personal information that is collected via our website at www.ccdstyling.com.au (and any project-specific website operated by us), when you make an enquiry about a property, or which you provide to us in other ways.

2. Kinds of personal information collected

Personal Information is information or an opinion (whether true or not) about an identified, or reasonable identifiable, individual.  During the provision of our services to you, such as through our main website or and any project-specific website operated by us, or in the course of any development or investment engagement, we may collect your personal information.

The kinds of personal information we may collect from you will differ depending on the particular interaction or dealing you have with us.  Generally, the personal information we may collect from you might include (but is not limited to):

  • Name;
  • Date of birth;
  • Residential and/or postal address;
  • Email address;
  • Telephone and/or mobile numbers;

We will collect and hold your personal information in a fair and lawful manner, and not in an intrusive way.  While there is generally no obligation on you to provide your personal information to us, we may not be able to provide certain products, services or information to you without that information, and we may be limited in the ways we can subsequently interact with you.

  • when you make an enquiry or leave us a message through our website’s contact page;

  • when you make an enquiry on our projects’ websites;
  • while conducting customer satisfaction and market research surveys;

In certain cases we may collect personal information about you indirectly from several sources and third parties, such as suppliers, recruitment agencies, contractors, our clients and/or our business partners.  We may also collect personal information from our real estate agency when you inquire about our projects; or from the third parties who we run our marketing campaigns with, such as Facebook, REA, Domain, newspaper, magazines and other social media. We will generally only collect personal information from indirect sources where it is unreasonable or impracticable to collect that personal information directly from you. 

4. Use of your information

Generally, we collect and use your personal information only to the extent necessary for us to conduct our business and provide products and services to you, including our website and any development or investment engagements.

Some examples of the purposes for which we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information include to:

  • offer and provide you with goods and services in the course of our business;
  • personalise your experience with our website and our services generally;
  • communicate with you in relation to your engagement with us;

Marketing is an integral aspect of our growth and success.  We maintain an association with a selected group of experienced service providers in connection with residential and commercial property, and we have co-marketing arrangements with these service providers to enhance the products, services and experience we can provide you.

In addition to the purposes outlined in paragraph 4 above, we may use and disclose your personal information in order to inform you of opportunities, events, products or services which may be of value or interest to you.  This may include disclosing your personal information to related companies of CCD or other service providers with which we maintain an association, or otherwise to for the purpose of that other entity contacting you for direct marketing purposes, such as via email or mobile correspondence.

If you do not wish to receive such communications, you can opt-out by contacting us via our contact details set out at paragraph 11 below, or through the opt-out mechanism contained in all marketing communications to you.

6. Disclosure of your personal information

We will disclose your personal information for a purpose set out in paragraphs 4 and 5, as well as to assist us in providing products and services to you.  This may include disclosing your personal information to:

  • our suppliers, contractors, or other organisations that provide us with technical, marketing and support services;
  • people or entities considering acquiring an interest in CCD’s business or assets;
  • our professional advisors on a needs-to-know basis (including legal and accounting firms, insurers and other professional advisors); and
  • government authorities where required by law.

If we disclose information to a third party, we generally require that the third party protect your information to the same extent that we do.

We will not use or disclose your personal information for any other purpose unless you have consented to that use or disclosure, or that use or disclosure is required or permitted by law.

7. Overseas disclosures

We will generally disclose your personal information to our partners and service providers located in Australia.  We do not intend to disclose any personal information overseas currently. 

However, if we were to disclose information overseas, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that any such overseas recipients do not hold, use or disclose your personal information in a way that is inconsistent with the obligations imposed under the Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act. 

8. Security of your personal information

We endeavour to protect the security of your personal information and your choices for its intended use.  

We store your personal information on a secure server in Australia accessible only by authorised personnel and contractors, and use technical and managerial procedures designed to protect the information from unauthorised access, destruction, use, modification or disclosure.

Where your personal information is held in hard copy, it will be held in controlled, access restricted premises which only authorised personnel or contractors will be permitted to access.

We will destroy or de-identify personal information in circumstances where it is no longer required, unless we are otherwise required or authorised by law to retain the information.

9. Access and correction

We take steps which are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure personal information we hold is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant and not misleading.  We ask that you advise us if any information about you changes so we can update our records. You have the right to request, obtain or correct any personal information we hold about you.  If you wish to access your personal information, or wish to request more information on our approach to privacy, you may do so at any time by contacting us in accordance with paragraph 11 below.  

To obtain and access your personal information:

  • you will be required to verify your identity in order to ensure your confidentiality and the protection of your identity;
  • we request that you be reasonably specific about the information you would like to obtain; and
  • we may charge you a reasonable administration fee which reflects the cost to CCD for providing you access in accordance with your request (such a fee, if any, will be notified to you in advance).

We will endeavour to respond to requests to access or correct your personal information within 30 days of the request.  If we refuse any request for access or correction in accordance with the Privacy Act, we will provide you with written reasons for the refusal.

11. Privacy complaints

You have a right to complain if you are unhappy with how your information has been treated and we welcome your comments.  At all times, privacy complaints:

  • will be treated seriously;
  • will be dealt with promptly;
  • will be dealt with in a confidential manner; and
  • will not affect your existing obligations or affect the commercial arrangements between you and CCD.

We will seek to resolve your complaint within 30 days of receipt, unless we inform you otherwise and seek your agreement in writing.

On receipt of your complaint, our Privacy Officer will commence an investigation and you will be informed of the outcome following completion of the investigation.  In the event that you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your complaint, or an extension to the time in which CCD will resolve it, you may refer the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).
